Merve Ala was born in Istanbul. In 2010, she was graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts. In 2014, she completed her master’s degree with a thesis about “Movement-Image and Cinematography in Architectural Design” in Istanbul Technical Univesity. She participated in various architectural competitions in different design offices. Between 2012-2018, she worked as an architect in General Directorate for Foundations. In 2018 she left her job from the directorate and started to work as a construction supervisor in Eyüp Public Soup-Kitchen Restoration Project. As of December 2019, she has been working in Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Culturel Assets Directorate as an architect.
